From the designer: “This is my personal website which uses my own CSS framework based on BlueprintCSS and taking the best parts of others. It has a fluid header, footer and gives the appearance of a fixed but expandable background. The main content block is fixed width. The mix of the both fixed and fluid along with the edgey graphics creates design conflict that works for the style.”
